Doctor Hege Riise

Dr. Hege Riise, Licensed Psychologist

I received my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, completed my doctoral internship at New Mexico State University and my postdoctoral residency at Arizona State University. I grew up in Norway and have lived all over the US for the last 25+ years. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my spouse and two dogs. I also love reading, video games, arts and crafts, and practicing yoga.

I have spent my career working with diverse clients who have come to me with a variety of challenges. I specialize in providing treatment of trauma, particularly trauma stemming from interpersonal violence and abuse. I also have a special love for supporting gender, sexual, and relationship minorities (e.g., LGBTQ+, kink) and have worked as an ally and advocate for LGBTQ+ individuals, including providing assessments for gender affirming care.

Hunter Sulc

Hunter Sulc, Doctoral Extern

I am currently a doctoral student in training at the Florida School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University Tampa. I provide individual therapy from an integrative approach, meaning I use a variety of modalities tailored to the client’s personal needs.

I believe that first and foremost, therapy is a relationship between two people. This connection provides an opportunity to develop insight, practice new patterns of behavior, and receive support without expectations. While the path to your goals may vary depending on your needs, the foundation begins with creating an environment where you can feel comfortable being fully yourself. Through this authenticity comes a greater level of self-understanding.

Rachel Cross

Rachel Cross, Doctoral Extern

I am a doctoral student at Florida School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University. My clinical interests include trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, domestic violence, women’s issues, grief, relationship concerns, and working with gender and sexual minorities. My therapeutic style is warm, curious, and trauma-informed. I value the importance of understanding symptoms within the larger story of a person’s life, relationships, culture, and lived experiences. I also believe therapy can help people reconnect with their strengths, deepen self-understanding, and build new ways of responding to themselves and others with more clarity, confidence, and compassion. I am a United States Air Force veteran who served for eight years working on the flightline. I have great respect for my time in service, and what I have come to value most in the years since is the ability to make meaning from my experiences, especially the parts of life that challenge, shape, and transform us.

Outside of my clinical work, I am a sculptor and artist. My experience with art has shaped my belief that creativity can serve as another form of communication, one that allows people to express emotion, identity, and lived experience without needing to rely on words alone. My creative work is deeply connected to the way I understand emotion, resilience, and human experience.
